It still hasn't sunk in yet
I'm going for internship in Karachi, for at least six months. Doing marketing communications/event management/ press management/ whatever else comes my way.And for those who know, my maternal grandfather's from Pakistan. Well, more precisely from the region now known as Pakistan cos he came before the separation. So I've got family there, and no, never been there before.
Got mixed responses, dad's cool as usual about it. Mum's worried as usual. (Citing recent bombings and political unrest and attempting to dissuade me. As usual, I never listen, ha!)
Friends are happy for me. AIESECers excited to see me leave. (Another one for match realised! Yay!) :D
My response? It still hasn't sunk in yet! I was doing my victory dance once the internship got confirmed. And then... cool as a cucumber. I'm guessing it will when I actually start booking the flight tickets, hear from the reception team, apply for visa's. But since I'm not doing all that stuff till next week, nothing's sinking in yet...
Or will it only hit me when I board the plane... ah, that reminds me, need to make a new passport. aiiiiiiii...... OK, NOW the realisation's trickling into my head... as the to-do list gets longer... aaiiiii!!
